Best Whole Wheat Flour!!

This time I caught my dough at optimum rise and it was just perfect. I've fed Ethel, my sour dough starter and she liked it very much as well. Turned one loaf into croutons and like the bread, great air pockets made for super crunchy, yet not jaw breaking! Most pleased! Can't wait to try their other flours! The baked breads of this flour offer a flavor that is warm, nutty and oat-like. The yeast breads rise nicely, and the crust is soft with a nice fluffy center. Overall, I'm very satisifed with this particular whole wheat flour blend, it has a unique taste and soft texture to it that is unlike most whole wheat flour blends, so I find that useful for larger whole wheat breads. I typically purchase Wheat Montana Prairie Gold flour, but it was unavailable. There seems to be a different (maybe slightly coarser?) grind than the usual Gold Medal type flours have. Once I made something with this wheat flour, I was hooked! It has a wonderful nutty flavor, and the price cannot be beat.HappiestBird

Wide mouth "resealable" bag that 1) doesn't reseal, 2) is too shallow to dip even a half-cup measure into, and 3) opening is wider than any canister is, so impossible to get flour out of with spilling. Love the idea of supporting Dakota wheat farmers, but a plain old paper bag works a whole lot better.pettacom
