Works Great!
This portable air conditioner works great! I gave it a 4 out of 5 only because the piece that went in the window was broken, I am still able to use it and it doesn't effect anything. It's easy to set up and understand the controls on the machine and on the remote. It's relatively quiet, as in it poses no problem trying to sleep with it on. If you're used to sleeping with a fan going you should have no problems with the noise. I would definitely buy another one of these over a window unit.

The dehumidification is very poor. Yes it removes water but not at a capacity you would expect a 400 item to do so. The cooling is fairly decent, but I wouldn't recommend going above 300 sq ft and I did not really get to test the heating. I need the dehumidification bc this is in a laundry room without central air

    Whirlpool Multi Functional Air Conditioner
When I took the Whirlpool portable air conditioner out of its packaging, I was very impressed that it has a sleek contemporary look. It is multi-functional because it is an air conditioner, heater, fan and dehumidifier with many settings. It is portable because it has wheels. You can turn it on manually with its many orderly functions on the top panel. You can also turn on any of its functions by the remote-control device which is a nice feature. The top panel opens quietly and closes when you turn it off. It has an easy to read instruction manual. What I did not know is that it has to have its accordion exhaust duct installed in the back of the unit to be placed in a window (or put a hole in a wall) It comes with a window slide installation kit to vent it outside. You also have to install its drain hose to drain water from the unit into a drain pipe or drainage area. So, this aspect of the appliance makes it difficult to adapt it indoors or portable. It would be difficult to move it to another room from time to time. For personal safety you would not want to use the window slide installation kit on the ground level of your home. So, you would have to install it in upper level of your home or apartment. Because of the exhaust duct window installation and the water drain hose this is not compatible for my home. Aside from that, the unit has very unique functions that people would enjoy in a second level home , apartment or perhaps in a garage or a work shed where there is no heat or air. Whirlpool has a great reputation and makes very good appliances!
