Easy to work with
When I decided to try this I wasn't sure if I would like premade frosting. I always make my own, so this was fun for me to do! I wasn't expecting too much, but I was very impressed with this icing. It was the perfect consistency for applying on my cake. It is easy to work with, I just stirred it up with a spoon and it spread so nicely onto the cake. I was pleasantly surprised that it tasted good too. I would definitely buy this for a quick job for school or church, just stir, slather, then enjoy!

It's ok
This decorating icing is definitely just for decorating. It is very stiff and will decorate well but the taste isn't that sweet and I wouldn't use it for the main part of the cake only for decorating. I would only recommend it for decorating cake or whatever dessert but not for taste.

    Not too Sweet
    This Wilton diff decorator icing actually was pretty good. I don't really care for overly sweet frostings. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this one was not overly sweet. The fact that it is a stiff icing I found out it's not really made for cupcakes LOL. Although that is where I tried it. It didn't tear up the cupcake but it was difficult to frost it. I would recommend it for people that are doing cakes.

    “Holds up” to its name!
    This can icing is super thick, much thicker than even a homemade buttercream. It's much thicker than regular can icing. It would probably need to be thinned out a little for use, as it was too hard for me to use with small tips. I could use my #5, #18 and then with no tip. (See picture, from left to right). I do not have flower making tools or skills, but could see it being good for that. It doesn't taste awesome but it's not bad either. I wasn't able to use this more a full cake yet, but could see it being very useful. It almost seems moldable with a finger, so could almost be used like fondant. But I haven't tried that.

    One less step to have to worry about
    I was very impressed with this frosting. At first I was surprised by how stiff it was, I wouldn't recommend using a small tip with it, but once I changed out tips I loved how well the frosting worked for writing and flowers! I'm no pro but I'm really excited to use more of this and work on my decorating. You can add more water to make it less stiff, or you can add powdered sugar to it if you need to go the opposite direction. The taste is great as well. I made banana blondies for My little girl's birthday and this frosting added some sentiment as well as yummy flavor to it!

    The Wilton Stiff Decorator Icing White, 16 oz is an excellent choice when it comes to needing stiff icing. Right out of the container you can tell just how thick this icing really is. I used it on my daughter's cake, and it did extremely well. I thinned it out just a bit but I used it to pipe on an edge and some decorative flowers. Many times with regular icing these flowers have a tendency to droop or wilt if you will and look a bit sad. Not the case using the Wilton Stiff Decorator Icing White, They held incredibly well. It even survived an overnight trip without any issues. One of my biggest complaints is when the icing falls off but this one didn't even budge. There is enough icing to do a lot of decorations I did a double stacked 9in round had had plenty left to do another if I wanted to. Out of all the different brands, I would have to say Wilton makes one of the best decorator icings there is. Easy enough for a novice to use but good enough for a pro to make some amazing-looking decorations. I can't wait to try it again on some new styles that I have been hesitant to try since I wouldn't consider myself a pro yet. I would most definitely recommend the Wilton Stiff Decorator Icing White, 16 oz to anyone who makes and decorates cakes.

    Wish it had less sugar
    Taste fine. not too sweet to me. But it does have a lot of sugar. But this is to be expected. This one is "stiff". But you still can maneuver it when decorating. It tastes pretty good for frosting /icing.

    Great for use in a piping tube
    The label makes it very clear that this icing is stiff and they aren't joking. I am not a cake decorator or a very good baker for that matter but tried the white decorator icing on a cake I made for my husband's birthday. First, the icing tastes delicious, it really is good and tastes like it came from a bakery. Second, it doesn't spread at all so don't try to use it like regular icing. It can be thinned with water but I didn't try that this time, I will next time. It's made for using as edging or to make flowers or designs, so once I put it in my piping tube it worked great. The photo is what it looked like when I tried to spread it- a fail!
