Perfect Household Desk
I added this as a household desk in my small home office. I love this set because it is small and allows me to be efficient in organizing my space. I can easily reach front to back to get items or to clean the top. The drawers ARE small but hold several small items, and the space under the shelf allows me to store envelopes etc. The small shelf on top holds Knick knacks for display. The drawer pulls out easily (and has a drawer stop). Easy assembly: just attack legs and shelf with tool provided. Even young children can help assemble this.

I purchased two of these desks and was very pleased with them. I loved them so much; I wrote a positive review and ordered two more. Both desks came damaged, NOT due to shipping. I returned one of them because I couldn't fix it, the other I repaired. The one I returned I requested a replacement. I had to do that so I would keep uniformity in the rooms. I hope that the replacement is not damaged. So sad.

    It's Just what I Was Looking For.
    I am opening my house to conduct Christian retreats. I like antiques, but I couldn't find two small desks to fit in the bedrooms. I want to the Hayneedle website and found this City Studio Writings Desk, that is a big name for such a small desk, don't you think? I read the description of the desk and looked at the low price. I was a little skeptical, but I took a chance and bought two. I'm so glad I did. It looks just the way I hoped. As you can see in the photos, I'm looking for a modest decor for the retreat rooms. The desk is easy to put together, and it accents the room. For the price, you can't go wrong. Peace, Ray+

    Just What I Was Looking For
    I'm down sizing to a small one bedroom condo and was looking for a small desk for my computer. I like nice things but am trying to decorate on a budget.This is the perfect size to fit the monitor/small keyboard and mouse without looking like an office desk. The finish is nice and the entire piece is solid wood except for the small back panel of the drawer hutch. I changed the knobs out to some boho ceramic painted knobs that I had hanging around for a funky look. It was easy to assemble (me 56 year old woman a little handy with tools. The drawers are small but handy for things like stamps and pens.

    Nice sturdy desk and easy to assemble.
    Very nice little desk and so easy to assemble. Seems very sturdy and durable. Had a small gash on on the top of desk but hopefully some clear polish will keep it from getting worse? Otherwise for the value and ease of set up, very pleased!

    good little desk….
    I got this desk to use in a guest room. I thought it would be a good idea to use it as an "night stand" so guests could have a place to sit their laptops, also, there is room for a lamp, and space left over for glasses, a book, etc. The overall dimensions of the desk are perfect as a night stand. I also like that there is room under it for a small stool. There is NEVER enough seating in a guest room, so that has worked out great as well. I gave it four stars instead of five because it does not scream "high end". It doesn't look like more than what it is….a $100 desk. But for a guest room, it is just perfect and I LOVE it. It looks exactly as shown in the picture, and the dimensions and color are accurate. It seems sturdy. I don't think it will fall apart, and it should last for as long as I need it to. It was very easy to put together, and it took about 15 minutes MAX. The drawers are already assembled. Basically, all you have to do is put the legs on and screw on the top part. It came packed well, no damage. I ordered two, both were good. Also, if you wanted, it would be easy to do a light sanding on this desk, and repaint it to match your room. Honestly, I am thinking of ordering two more and just using them as end tables on each side of the beds in both guest rooms. I like it that much. As a added bonus….I found this desk at several other online stores, and it was MUCH more expensive. So, $100 is a GREAT price.

    Sturdy little desk and easy to assemble!
    Really sturdy little desk and so, so easy to put together. My little laptop fits on it just great with room to spare and the drawers are a storage plus for such a little workhorse. Oh, I did saw a hole in the center back to put my electronic cords through. This fits along a wall in my bedroom quite nicely and a chair sits underneath with legroom to spare. My only beef is that the color is a little bit too orange, not as natural a color as I would have liked. Would have liked to see it in white or black.
