ONN Google TV 4K Streaming Box
This is the new 2023 version of Walmart's ONN Google TV streaming box. It provides 4K resolution and a voice remote. It has a faster processor than the model it replaces. It is also sold at an extremely affordable price. I was able to hook it up easily using the supplied HDMI cable. I turned it on and the menu comes right up on my TV. You then download the apps you prefer and you are on your way to streaming TV. The remote is very easy to use either by buttons or voice command.

I prefer roku still
Regarding the product itself, everything seems well built and worked properly. I had no problems at all getting everything connected and set up. The onscreen tutorial worked well and was not difficult at all. I have had roku devices for probably 7 years now, and so I had never tried a googletv device. I was wondering how they would compare and if I would enjoy the Google device more. Well, to me, it's not even a contest. I much prefer roku. I like the roku onscreen layout better, but my main reason for preferring roku is that I have several apps that I use daily and so I started searching for those, and the first was rumble. Surprisingly, rumble was available. I didn't think it would be since google owns youtube and rumble is a competitor of YouTube, but, to their credit, they do carry it. So far, so good! My next app was 'hope for our times', which is a bible prophecy channel. That comes up, but only on youtube, not as a standalone app. There's more content on their app than what's on their youtube channel and so it's necessary for me to have the app. I think that the app availability is not googletv's fault, I think it's actually 'hope for our times' fault because they probably don't have the app for googletv. Well that app is probably not on most people's request list, but for me, it is. You might have a different app that you're interested in, and so you'll want to search to see if it's available on googletv first before buying this. I stopped looking for further apps at this point. The reason I stopped there is that I won't be using this product because it doesn't carry an app that I use frequently. If all the apps you want are available on googletv then I would recommend this product. The product itself seems just as well built as roku is. I feel like most apps are available on roku though. I just assumed that they would also be available on googletv as well, and for my usage, that didn't turn out to be the case. Also, another note, to me, the roku layout is much easier to navigate than this one. This one feels cluttered - a lot!!! I could give my 70 year old mom a roku and I am confident that she would enjoy it and find it very easy to use. I would never give my mom a googletv device. It would probably make her cry actually.

It's like having a new TV
I wanted a $500 dollar smart TV to watch my shows. I used to watch Netflix on my phone. I saw this product on Google and decided for $20 I will try it. I owned a fire stick that stop working. I plug this in and watch everything on my old Emerson $99 Black Friday 40”. I can see my Amazon Prime shows, Netflix and YouTube. I really like it. Now I don't need a new TV.

A great addition to the Onn family of products!
Having used other Onn streaming devices before, I was excited to check out Onn's entry into the larger 4K streaming market, and they did not disappoint! The user interface (UI) of the home page and app navigation are easy to use, seamless, and lag-free, and the streaming quality is crisp. Because it utilizes the Google store, many of the key streaming apps are available for download, with only a few more regional-specific apps absent from the App store. Setup is particularly easy (with easy plug-and-use access), but I do wish that the remote did not have to use the Google Home app to run. This Google Home accessibility allows for unique and helpful functionality like voice search and device personalization, but it adds a clumsiness to the otherwise easy-to-use interface. I am also quite confused by the port design of the box itself, with the AC adapter and the HDMI port on direct opposite sides of the box. This makes for a strange appearance when both cords are attached behind a TV and hides the LED power indicator lights slightly, but this is only a minor quibble. At a $20 price point, you can't get much better than this Onn device.

    Onn 4K streaming box
I have wanted to try the Onn Google Streaming box for a while. I do not yet have a 4K or 5K tv so my tv is not too smart. This box has opened up the many ways to stream tv shows or movies on my tv. It works really well!! There is no lagging in the playing of my shows. Set up is a breeze and I connected fast! I think this is awesome to have for someone who doesn't have a smart tv and wants to avoid the rising cost of cable tv subscriptions. I definitely recommend this device!! It's competitive price makes it a no brained for me!

Need a Google Account. My TV is a Streaming TV Now
We are cutting the cable--too expensive and the company recently added a charge for equipment usage. Mind you, we had a 2 year contract and they recently added a price for the equipment ($30/month) yet at the same time acknowledge that the equipment is old and outdated. They told us the equipment (no previous charge) wasn't covered in the contract and they can charge whatever for it. Our contract is up next month. ONN Google StreamingBox to the rescue! Our local power provider is putting in new broadband fiber internet soon so we can cut the cable with our internet company and just keep internet with them--no contract--and stream what we stream. As soon as the new fiber goes in, we are set to fully switch internet companies. Now that you know the backstory, let me catch you up with this amazing little StreamingBox device. It's about the size of my thumb (see pictures), so it doesn't take up much room and can be discrete. They added an optional adhesive strip you may choose to use so that the box sticks in place. We chose not to add it so we can dust around the box. The remote is just big enough to not be easily lost but still feels substantial in your hand although it doesn't weigh much. The best part about this streamingbox is how easily it sets up. It will initially take a bit of time to update, but after it does, it sets up quickly. In fact, it just might be the easiest tech I have set up recently. It was easy and it worked well right from the start. How nice is that! The volume control on the remote did not work at first, but the streamingbox trouble shot that with a different code to the remote (the screen said there was a possibility of 20 codes for my brand of TV) and the second code worked well. I absolutely recommend this. It is easy to set up and works well right from the start. It really is smartly designed. Do note, you will need a Google account to use this.

A compact, effective, hide-able streaming device
This isn't a technical review of this product. I am an everyday user who just wants things to work, so this is from that perspective. Note also that this isn't a Google product, but a product which works with Google TV as an operating system and the other apps that you might use to stream. It comes with an HDMI cable, power cable, the palm-sized box itself, and a remote with batteries. The remote fits in your hand easily and even smaller hands will be able to operate it one-handed. The back has a pleasing curve to it. Note that the HDMI cable is thick and relatively short, and the power cord is as well, so placement is important. Because the device is small and light, the HDMI cord pretty much dictates where it will sit and at what attitude. It could be adhered to the back of a TV or TV stand or cabinet with some two-sided tape to keep it out of view. The box itself isn't unpleasant to have in view, but the HDMI cable is stiff enough that it will control how it sits and where, which will influenced by how it is plugged into the television. But if you have a place to hide and attach it, you won't have a problem. Setup was very easy. I needed to download the Google Home app, and let it log into my existing Google account. There is not a separate Google TV account, as Google seems merely to have provided an operating system in which streaming apps can operate. It allowed me to use QR codes, so this process was easy and quick. The unit automatically prompted me to pair the remote, updated itself and the remote, and once it was connected to my Google account, offered to install the most popular streaming apps, and it had most of mine available. The ones that it didn't offer I was able to find easily in the Apps tab, and install later. The look, feel and sound of the interface are pleasing, and easy to navigate. The picture on my high-end TV is clear and sharp, and the sound is excellent. The device had no trouble connecting to my wifi, and I have not seen any buffering or delays in loading menus or shows. In fact, everything loads and runs quickly and smoothly. If you have a television that has a slow-built in streaming interface, or a TV that doesn't have built-in wifi, a little box like this will allow you to connect to all of the major streaming services, and navigate them and stream like a pro, without a lot of hassle. If you already have a Google account, (e.g. you have a Gmail account), then this product will help you access the world of streaming content easily and without taking up a lot of room on your entertainment center.

    Way better than a Firestick
Well, as coincidence would have it, my second Firestick Lite had just become unstable after its last update, crashing and rebooting while I was in the middle of watching something. The same thing happened with my first one. Today my ONN Google TV Streaming Box arrived in the mail. Although setup was easy, it took a while and the initial update lasted an eternity. I already use the Google Home app on my android phone so it was a snap getting my account going. Once all that was done and I installed the Amazon Prime Video and Pluto TV app, it was running smoothly. The app responds quickly and doesn't hang or hesitate. The video streaming quality is excellent. I haven't explored the Google TV streaming but Prime Video and Pluto TV, the ones I use mostly when streaming, work very well… much better than the Firestick. I don't particularly care for the app shortcuts on the remote as I don't use any of them so they're just extra buttons. I also kinda wish the remote was black but it's a non-issue. Really pleased with it. I just hope future updates don't render it unusable like the Firestick.
