Missing parts
This item was shipped with used and missing parts. One mounting nut had been used, it had dried grease and wrench marks on it. The other mounting nut was missing. These are not of a common size and not easy to locate locally . When buying marine part stick to marine dealers.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/24/2020Great hydraulic steering kit.Exactly what I wanted / needed for my 16' Hewes flats boat. What an upgrade... I'm mad I waited so long. Walmart's price was hundreds less than other sites / stores. It was a 3 hour project and it comes with everything you need minus the tools. I had to modify my splash well to accommodate but most boats should mount right up.Brian

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/17/2020No complaints here!!!!!Installed on a 19' Trophy Walkaround 1902 with a Mercury 125 2 stroke Biggest problem was removing the old cable system. I used bolt cutters for the main cable and then I used a sawzall with a metal cutting blade to remove what was needed from the large and small rods through the tilt tube. The next issue was a 3" circular blade was just too small and I then had to take a file around it to open it up a little more (not more than a 10th of an inch). Install was pretty easy, but a little time consuming, by myself. Took about 3-3.5 hours total. Another pair of hands would have cut that in about half. The next day I then took about 45 minutes to fill and purge the system. Once I was happy with everything I then turned lock to lock with a lot of force at each lock to see if the hose connections were leaking. Everything was good to go. Comparing the ease of steering now is no contest. I use to have to fight the old cable system, I can actually turn the wheel with a finger on a spoke. The turns lock to lock are a little more than what the cable was (4.2 to 5.0 now) but it really is not noticeable. Only took it out once but the boat handled a lot easier around the dock and trailer without putting up the fight the old steering did. 20' hose length was JUST more than enough for me, but if I had a walkaround that was more than 20' long I would order the kit with the 30' hoses. That size would probably have more than a 150hp engine and would require a seastar system anyway.Brian

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/19/2018Cable to hydraulic steering upgrade to 2004 YamahaExcellent kit to upgrade my Yamaha 150 2 stroke cable steering to hydraulic. The kit had very good instructions and everything needed for the job. Completed this upgrade the afternoon I received the kit. I ordered the kit one day and got it the next. Couldn't be happier!Harry

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/01/2018Great product at a great price!Great product, easy to install and I received it in a timely manner. Upon ordering this product it said it would take a week to ship, I received it 4 days later! I installed the baystar on my 115 mercury and it makes the boat so much easier to maneuver than the former rack and pinion. All around great product!Jacob M

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/29/2018Awesome steering system! This made a hard-to-steer 18' runabout with a 115 hp outboard drive like a dream. Hardest part was removing the original rack and pinion steering cable, had to hacksaw it into pieces. Get a set of SAE crowfoot wrenches for your torque wrench. Take your time purging the hydraulic lines, when it's done right the motor should not move when pushed left or right.bikemutt
