This book reeks of ani...
This book reeks of animal rights propoganda, but it's clever and cute for the most part. Farmer MacDonald is made out to be a bit scary, but they redeem him in some ways. But seriously, the man is just trying to make a living, and here all these kids go stealing from him and it is something to be celebrated because all the turkey will LIVE! We have read this book every year, but this is the first year I've ever really had an issue with it. Probably because my son is a little more perceptive at the age he is now. I had to explain to him that the farmer isn't a villain and he wanted to know if the kids were heroes from stealing the turkeys from the farm. This is a fun rhyming book for the little tots who just like to look at pictures of turkeys around Thanksgiving, but I will not be checking it out for my now school aged child again

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser03/28/2013Save the turkeys!!! ...Save the turkeys!!! Most hillarious Thanksgiving book written in rhyme to Clement Moore's historical poem. A few children are off to a turkey farm on a school field trip just before Thanksgiving where they learn what happens to those turkeys! Well, they are going to do everything in their power to help save them. Pay attention to the pictures - depiction of the text!DiamondDog
