Nice soldering iron
This is a great soldering iron for smaller projects like crafting or electric items. I will probably use this on my slot car race track. I like that it has a stand. My other soldering irons did not have a stand, which made it awkward to have a safe place to lay the iron down when not using it.

Works as advertised.
Pros 1) An extra replacement tip is always helpful. 2) The Rosin Core Solder works well and the self-feeding tube makes soldering easier and convenient. Cons 1) There is only one style of tip included. I'm not sure if different tip styles are sold separately, but if so, I would purchase them. 2) There is no light indicating the solder is on and hot. This could pose a safety issue for users. 3) There is a stand included in this kit; however, it is very light and it dragged the cord. To prevent this, it would be nice if it had a gripped bottom, or slightly weighted bottom. 4) There are two screws to release and tighten the tip. I found them to be bulky. If I had been working in a tight spot, they would have been in the way. Overall, this soldering iron is good for a small project (as advertised).

    Great for light soldering jobs
Handy little soldering iron. I use it for soldering wires when installing aftermarket radio in my friends truck. I like that it heats quickly and is small enough to fit in tight places. Comes with a spare tip which is good because these "always on" when plugged in soldering irons can burn up tips rather quickly.

Heats up very quick and is very light weight
The Hyper Tough Soldering Iron ended being a very light weight and handy around the shop tool. I plugged the iron in and it took approximately 2.5 minutes to heat up hot enough to melt solder. I do alot of automotive work and using butt joint that are soldered then use heat shrink on them to seal them up. Anyway, the butt joints heated up quickly. I especially like the solder that came with the iron because it is thin and works well with small wires. the soldering iron has a small holder that the iron can be put onto and lets you use two hands. All in all I am very satisfied with the results of using this tool.

    Good for occasional jobs.
This is a good soldering iron to use around the house and for doing light automotive and other electrical solders. It does not have any adjustable heat settings or anything so it's pretty basic you just plug it up and it heats up. It does come with a small stand to keep it from burning your work area and it has a roll of soldering flux included. I would recommend this for the occasional use but not for everyday use.

    Basic soldering iron kit
This is a basic, no frills, soldering iron. Nothing fancy. It's not rechargeable. It's not cordless. There are no temperature controls. Actually, there is no on/off switch either. Just plug it in, heat it up, and solder your wires. This lack of features does not imply the soldering iron is no good. For me, it's perfect. I use a soldering iron to solder wires. Nothing more, nothing less. I prefer that the tools I use are simple and only made to do a single task. When you start adding extraneous features you usually lessen the overall productivity (and reliability) of most devices. After plugging in the iron, it heats up relatively fast and the temperature at the tip is hot enough to solder most stranded wire under 12 gauge. The supplied solder is adequate for most electronic soldering and flows well. The soldering iron also comes with a very light plastic prop to rest the iron on when it is not in your hand, and an extra soldering tip. If you just need a cheap iron to solder wires then this should fit the bill. If you're looking for something to do complex 'component level' soldering on a board then try to find something a little more high end.

    Perfect for my needs.
Perfect light duty soldering kit for the DIYer like me. I am not doing any integrated circuitry but I do a lot of high and low voltage electrical work on my homestead and this fits my needs perfectly. It doesn't take up a lot of space in my tool box either. It is low on features as it has just one heat setting and is not adjustable. The tip is replaceable and it comes with a spare. It would have been nice to see it come with a sponge and sponge holder for tip cleaning but I understand it would increase costs for this little kit.

    Good for small projects
I bought a small speaker kit online to test out this soldering iron. It worked well for this small kit, but by the end the tip wouldn't hold solder anymore. It could be because I haven't soldered anything in over a decade, but it seemed like I remembered everything I was taught. Luckily there are two tips, so I think it will last long enough for several small repairs. The stand, however, is practically useless. It is too lightweight to safely hold the soldering iron without tipping over every time you pick up or put down the iron. 4 stars because it was inexpensive, so it performed well enough for the price.

    Great for Speaker wire
All the soldering iron I need! I have a midsized golf cart with a dump bed on it. We use it around the house for leaves and to run a sprayer. Other use is just riding the kids around. I decided it needed a radio and speakers. The way the speaker wires connect to the speaker is by a built in clip that the wire slides into. If I had a dollar for every time the wire broke..... This is where the soldering iron comes in. I ended up having a somewhat good idea of putting solder on the stripped wire to make it rigid to keep it from breaking. The Hyper Tough Soldering iron works perfect. The extra tip, stand, and provided soldering wire was all I needed to complete the task.

    Nice iron
The Hyper Tough 30-Watt Soldering Iron with Stand and Electrical Solder is a nice little soldering iron. It's a nice iron for small jobs. I use this size iron for small jobs. This iron heats up quick and has a small stand to rest it on while it's heating up or once it gets hot. It also comes with some electrical solder and an extra tip. It's a 120 volts and is a good iron to have in the toolbox.

    30 Watts
Hyper Tough 30w Soldering Iron model 7561 ... It heats up very quickly, but I don't have a way to test the temperature. I've used inexpensive soldering irons in the past, with mixed results. But I think they were only rated for 20-25 watts. So I tested this 30w soldering iron with an amp clamp meter, with good results ... line volts 130.3v x draw amps 0.23a = draw watts 29.97w. It comes with some electrical solder, an extra tip, and a small stand. I just use an old soup can for a stand, and have made extra tips in the past from sharpened nails.

Perfect for someone new to soldering!
I didn't know exactly what this was when I ordered it but I love crafts and have been wanting to make jewelry and fix jewelry. This iron is so easy to use and I've been using it since I opened it! There's no directions so I had to watch a few YouTube videos which I'd rather do than read instructions anyway. I also started teaching my older children how to use it and they've began a few projects as well! The iron is to hold and work with. I've secured necklace chain links while creating and fixing them and had no issues. I don't mind that there is no on and off button because that is just how my hot glue gun is. The little stand is just perfect to hold the iron while not using and I didn't find it wobbly at all! This is definitely a handy tool to have around the house!

    Hyper Tough 30-Watt Soldering Iron
This little 30 - watt soldering iron is quite the handy little tool. It comes with two tips and a nice little stand, (great idea). This solves the problem the problem of trying to prop it up somewhere while in between uses. This small but unique soldering iron works well for many projects that are smaller and it can be repaired by a larger tool. I've use this soldering iron to fix my bird feeder and the wires on my speakers. Worked like a charm. This soldering iron heats up pretty quick and is ready for use in no time. It so easy to use even someone with little or no experience using a soldering iron could use it. The only thing I would add is a case to keep the extra tips, solving iron and soldering in would be a added bonus. I would definitely recommend this product.

Highly recommend this basic tool for house-hold
This is really a simple and fantastic soldering tool that I wanted to buy since a while and got my repairs pending as such. Yes its a cool looking soldering iron is just perfect for my home projects and little wire breakage on toys, small drones , fan etc... Well, this soldering iron is very nicely sized for working with tiny and intricate soldering jobs. The best thing is it just warms super quick and ready for the job in less than a minute and obviously, the main work goes for seconds, this speed is ideal and fits my needs very well so the tip heats very quickly when activated as mentioned. The resting stand includes light weight steel wire with plastic base and is suitable for safe keeping the iron while using it on and off. The handy soft metal spring comes in easy pull case and slowly melting the tip out into delicate silicon board connections and problem areas. If you are in the market for your first soldering iron to learn on, or you need a soldering iron for a job in a pinch and don't have your expensive setup with you... get this kit, totally worth the price. Highly recommend this basic tool for all house-hold DIY jobs and minor careful repairs. Use safely and protect yourself and surroundings following the instructions while using products like this.

    Easy for Beginners
This is the first time I've ever used a soldering iron. I was a little apprehensive but was quickly put at ease. I will say there needs to be better directions on the package because it only had the contents on there and no instructions on how to use the iron. After I googled a little, I began using the iron. I was making geometric shapes for my son and we used the iron to fuse the wires together. The iron obviously gets incredibly hot. I used the tip that was included with the iron and the tube of solder that came with it for this project. It also comes with an extra tip. The iron was easy to get used to and it is easy to pinpoint where you need the solder to go. The iron melted the solder very quickly and made it easy for this first timer to get her projects finished. I had no problems using the iron and with some more practice, I'll be a pro.

    Heats up fast
This soldering iron heats up pretty quickly so be ready for that. The stand is great for this as you can set it down without worry. This is perfect for jewelry makers as it has the smaller tip and you can handle more intricate designs easily.

Review of Hyper Tough 30-Watt Soldering Iron
Upon initially receiving this soldering iron, I was pleasantly surprised as the old one that I have been using was over 10 years old and I was looking to replace them. Opening this type of package is always a practice in destroying the packaging and to never be able to utilize it for further storage, but the packing box will be very useful. This Hyper Tough 30-Watt Soldering Iron model GS-30W seems reasonably durable and with two tips should last quite a while for the particular use that I have and that is to repair computer motherboard components, such as power sockets and USB connections, 30 watts is enough. The handle has a good solid feeling and there is no internal rattling. The heat prop-up holder is typical but it is not sufficient for my particular needs. However, I did not intend to use this kind of holder as I have a pretty good set up with an advanced utility that this soldering iron will complement for many repairs to come. With computer repairs, clean and sharp pointed tips are important and this soldering iron has the ability to not only change tips but appears that it can accommodate other sizes as needed.

Plug in & ready to use!
I got this to do some crafting, jewelry making, and for household tasks. I enjoyed how easy it was to begin using it. Didnt require a million pieces or reading a manual, I was able to plug it in, wait about 60 seconds and it was hot & ready to start using! I did my first wood burning piece as a tester. My husband was nearby watching & he really liked the designs I was able to get using the tip that came on it. I think this is perfect for beginners or people who just want it for small tasks but, the stand that came with it is a little wobbly but, not something I would personally use except for letting it cool off on. It came with an extra tip as well that will come in hand when the one on it no longer is usable. I think this was made well & it doesn't seem cheaply made at all. The handle feels comfortable when holding it. I do wish it had a grip on it so when you're using it your hand would be more comfortable. I would definitely recommend buying it if you need a soldering iron that will heat up fast without having to charge or run off batteries.

Easy for a Beginner to Use
This Hyper Tough 30-Watt Soldering Iron with Stand and Electrical Solder is a nice set for a beginner. I was familiar with how to use a Soldering iron, as I watched my dad using one many times when I was growing up. And it worked just like it should. Easy to use. The wire feeds out of the tube easily, and the iron gets hot quickly and melts the solder just right. I tested it out by soldering a connector piece in a necklace that was loose. I think it came out pretty nice, for being a beginner. I do a lot of crafts and dabble in jewelry making, so I'm going to make good use of this and am very happy to have it.
