Exceptional eBike for a 6.5 years old boy.
This bike is bigger for my 6.5 years old boy with an inseam of 20.75 inches. He and the bike both weigh about 40 lbs. However, he handles it well. At medium power level, this 180 watts motor is more than enough to propel him on a 15-degree grade driveway, roads, and rough backyard terrain without any issues. Due to his age, we have never tried the high-power setting. With my 170 lbs weight, I've been able to ride it uphill on 15 degrees graded driveway without any issues. The lithium battery charges well; we never had to stop biking due to running out of charge. The 2.15 inches wide tires seem to have reasonable traction for the road and backyard. These are probably the biggest tires suitable for the rim size. I would like to fit larger fat tires on it; however, I have not come to any practical solution in my limited research.

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/25/2022JunkThis has not been used ONCE because the chain will not go on. It had not been used manually or with a battery. Also, we filled the tires twice, and they emptied. We thought we were doing something wrong, so we waited til friends were over to check it out. Then, when we went to return it, the return period had ended!!!TaraP

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/21/2022It's a perfect e-bike for kids except batteryIt is a good entry-level e-bike for kids with good price. Power assistance is really powerful at large level, faster than the maximum speed I can reach manually. The battery is a problem. The first bike I ordered had dead battery when delivered. The replacement battery is difficult to get and the manufacturer sells at $200 as parts, which exceeds the price of the entire bike I purchased. The second one I ordered has working battery and I keep that one.RhettOU

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/26/2022WAY MORE THAN A KIDDIE BIKEFirst, let me preface this review by acknowledging that I am a very large adult male and bought this "kids' bike" specifically to modify for my own use...with interesting results. So Kent is off the hook for most of the warranty. Unboxing and assembly was not so good as the box seemed to have water damage and some old torn holes easily large enough for parts to escape through. The damage was far greater than one would expect from Fed Ex and the age and condition of these units was likely, in my mind, why these $498 units went on sale for $148. They were sold out by the next day. While carrying the box through my living room a bike part and a packing park fell out on the carpet. But when I assembled the bike (60 minutes for me due to my poor vision. probably 30 minutes for most people), everything was there except for assembly tools. You will need metric allen keys and a 15 mm open end or adjustable wrench. Before assembly I plugged in the battery to the charger to be sure it would take a charge since this was obviously "old new stock" and if a lithium battery, usually shipped partially charged, loses enough of its charge it won't accept a charge at all. Sure enough it took the 1.8 amp charger 3 hours to fill the battery, meaning the 5.2 amp hour battery was discharged just a far as possible but still able to be saved. I read a review from a 5'7", 155 pound rider who said he got some "real air" while jumping his Torpedo without damage. A falling object from just 8" generates 5 "g's" of force at impact, so if "real air" is at least 8 inches high, the Torpedo was supporting over 750 pounds of weight when he landed it. The Torpedo utilizes 20 X 2.125 balloon tires rated for 75 kg each and 13 gauge spokes laced three over so with a balanced load, the wheels can handle at least 330 pounds. The suspension, designed for "kids" barely compressed under my weight on bumpy terrain. I wouldn't jump this bike at my size and will not drive off any curbs, so I think it can handle me and the odd bump in the road. My mods: the 28.6 mm seat tube is too short to set the seat high enough for me, so a new 14" long seat post and a Schwinn Superbreeze replacing the spartan stock seat will make my ride more comfy. The bike needs a tune up as the front wheel was slightly out of true and I was unable to raise the handlebar stem. It was easy to loosen the stem bolt but the stem itself seems seized in the tube so a bike pro will hopefully be able to fix it during the tuneup. I'd like it an inch higher but I raked the handlebars slightly forward to create a little more room in the "cockpit" until I can get it in for the tuneup. BTW, I have put together lots of bikes and every one of them needed a tuneup out of the box, so I consider the initial tuneup normal maintenance.John

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/05/2021awesome bikeThis Ebike is very nice for its price because the seat can be adjusted high enough for adults. The peddle assist is remarkable powerful even for an adult. You will need to assemble and fine tune this ebike for thihgs like peddles, handlebars, front wheel and seat. you will need to adjust Cable tension on the brake's and derailer. Some accessories that i recommend are Bell seal sealing inner tubes and Bell bicycle lights.Damien

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/23/2021100% would not recommend. Not sure if the bike came with a bent frame or if it was done during the shipping process, but there I had MULTIPLE issues with mine. Both front and rear tire frames wobble which cause rubbing against the breaks as you ride, even after many many adjustments to both brake and individual pads. If you decide to try it for yourself I'd recommend 'Deliver to store' if you have the option as FedEx handled it rough with the frame sticking out of the box, tossed on its side even though there is massive print, "Do Not Lay On Side." Thankfully Walmart has a good return policy.texas

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/16/2021You get what you pay forUnless you are mechanically inclined this bike is a challenge. It needs to be regularly adjusted to keep running. From gears to brakes to tightening down bolts, it is a struggle. You get what you pay for. It is very inexpensive and not built to last.Cbadkiddsmom
