So far so great
Got this for Xfinity as there is no way I'm paying a monthly fee to "rent" a router. After powering it on it was a little tricky to get the router/modem working as the Wi-Fi was not turning on. I did a factory reset and voila, Wi-Fi was good to go. After that, I used the Nighthawk app to do automated setup and everything was gravy within minutes. Could not be easier. I didn't have to do much of anything. Protip: Once you have Wi-Fi access, use the Nighthawk app! I was hesitant to do this because I don't like having a million apps but it makes setup and router management a cinch. Set it and forget it. Currently using two computers (one ethernet, one Wi-Fi) and a gaming console on this gateway with great speeds and have had no hiccups. If your ISP charges rental fees for their own gateway then this thing pays for itself in less than a year. No-brainer.

Hello? Is this thing on?
My first Netgear modem will officially be my last. Over the space of the last 24 hours I've had to reset it three times, something that never happened with my old Arris Surfboard. It took 45 minutes to get it to activate after hooking it up, even with Comcast's help. Add to that it didn't recognize the password that was assigned to it by Netgear (you'll find it on the bottom of the modem) and I had to reset it right out of the box. And don't use their "Nighthawk" smartphone app off the Google or Apple stores to try to activate it. The modem didn't recognize the password--again--that has to be used to log your phone on. Evidently they developers spent more time thinking up awesome-sounding names rather than making an app that actually worked. When you lose internet connectivity, you have to reset the modem manually. You can't log on to its IP address even if your computer is physically linked to the router via USB or ethernet. How stupid is that? What could be better than that? How about trying to log on to your router and having it demand a password each time because it doesn't recognize the one it was assigned or the one you changed it to? Maybe that's Netgear's new security feature: prompt any and all users to provide a new password. That'll keep hackers out! Making them set their own password on each failed login attempt will surely keep your computer safe. Don't bother with Netgear. You're better off browsing web sites by carrier pigeon. Both options certainly leave a comparable mess behind them.

    Netgear AC1750
I have had Netgear modem/routers in the past and they have always performed well. After Ian we needed new equipment for our home. A key aspect is the compatibility with XFINITY and to support a Ruckus switch box. It was an easy setup and all TVs and devices on the network are working great.

    Do Not Buy
Doesn't work after 2 months. 2.4gh goes out and will not reconnect. Restart, reboot, blah, blah. Tech support isn't fluent in English. Couldn't understand half of chat. Returning to store. Will not purchase Netgear products again since can't get tech support in America. Wish I had researched it more. This is a known problem that hasn't been corrected in several years.

If I could I would give no star. I had to rest my all devices every day or every other day it came to a breaking point when everything went offline. So I got new system from Spectrum I have not had any problems yet.

    Outdoor Connections
After a little trouble getting it to connect, it's working just fine. I needed it to connect my outdoor camera and doorbell. The cinder block walls were causing multiple disconnections. It now connects to my 5G network almost flawlessly.

    DO NOT BUY NETGEAR PRODUCTS
I have had issues with this router from day one but bc i thought is was my service provider i waited. So after being charged tech fees by xfinity they determine its my router. i call netgear they tell me its my service provider. By this time my netgear support(u have to pay for) has expired now they wont talk to you without paying for tech support. why should i pay for a netgear issue. i didnt make the product

    Outstanding performance and simple setup!
I purchased this device for my new home due to the strong ratings and reviews I saw online. After hooking it up to my providers coaxial cable and installing the Nighthawk App I was up and running in about 10 minutes. The signal is strong on both levels of my home and the speed is noticeably faster than my previous modem/ router combo. The app makes it easy to manage your network name, password, and settings. 5 out of 5 stars!

    Terrible reliability
Terrible router combo. Sadly, I had to upgrade after adding new electronic devices to my network because it proved to be too much for my old router with everything else I have connected. This new router interrupts my streaming every time it changes from 2.4 to 5 GHz, which is frequent. It shuts down on its own and constantly disconnects from the internet. I've had it for about 3 months and I'm currently working with Netgear to hopefully trade it out for something else. The tech I spoke to so far is trying to blame my issues on car traffic, other Wi-Fi networks, and proximity of the router from my tv. It is housed where I've always kept my past routers and I never had any issues in the past. This is by far the worst router I've ever used and I do not recommend it. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

    High Speed
I upgraded to this router last weekend to get 5g speed and the hope of better range upstairs for my family's laptops, iPads, streaming and iPhones. Listen! It has exceeded my expectations!!! I have high speed internet in every area in my house with no interruptions thus far on any of our devices. I work from home as well and it has been a Godsend. One small upgrade made one BIG difference. Look no further - this one is it!!!!

    Don't buy!
I purchased this to replace the modem/router that I was renting through Xfinity. At first it was great but after 1-2 weeks of using it, the internet would repeatedly go out. I'm talking go out for a minute, back on for 10 minutes, and back off another minute. All the lights were still on. After googling it, this is a common problem and there is no way to fix it. I returned it to Walmart.

I had a hard time activating it, but it could be because I have a brain injury and can't remember directions very well. The good news is that my security system that relies on WiFi is working much better with this new modem/router. It arrived super quick!

    Speed and Range
Speed connection is very fast. So far there has been no lagging. Have multiple items that requires router that I thought would be out of range but this router covers the distance with no problem. The price is very reasonable as well.

    Perfect for me
So happy to replace the leased Comcast router. This one has the four Ethernet hookups I needed and works great on wifi too. Not much effort needed to get it up and running. The app was giving me troubles initially but worked thru it relatively fast. I kept my same wifi name so all devices remained connected.

    A great investment
I finally made the decision to purchase my own router/modem to avoid that monthly rent charge from Xfinity. This was such a great investment. It's super easy to setup and works perfectly. The signal is very strong, reaches throughout house and even into garage. It looks super sleek, not as bulky as others. I love it!

    I'm glad I bought Netgear!
We were getting really unsatisfactory performance with the modem-router supplied to us by Atlantic Broadband for $15/mo on our cable bill. After thoroughly researching the marketplace for modems, routers and modem-routers that would serve my family's needs, I bought and easily connected my Netgear AC1750 modem-router. Setup was a snap. The most difficult part was getting Atlantic Broadband online to establish my device's MAC address and activate service to it. The whole process took less than an hour from unpacking the Netgear box to surfing the net and streaming content to my TV. I'm super happy that I chose Netgear.

    Didn't Last Long
Purchased mine back in November and had worked great up until a few days ago. The downstream is no longer working and both I and my internet provider have troubleshooted everything possible with no avail. With this, I had to order another one (better model and cheaper), but from Amazon this time.

TAKING IT BACK!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
I bought this modem today and I am taking it back tomorrow. None of my devices are able to connect to it, as it always keeps saying “unable to connect”. I know the password is right but for some reason NONE of my devices can connect to the 5ghz or the 2.4ghz. I tried on FIVE different devices and they all give me the same error.

    Received USED product...Not great business
I didn't even get to try this router because I received an extremely USED one and not NEW like I ordered. The entire outside is heavily scuffed and scratched. This is very upsetting!!
