The switch is actually on the line running to the outlet. There's no little pull switch like in the picture. The cheaply made lamp cover is too short, so the lightbulb sticks out of the top by over an inch. It's alright for now, but I'll be replacing it as soon as possible.Elaine

Light bulb does slightly stick out the top but it's overlookable. My 6yr old is very happy with it, so I'm happy.Melody
