Great for the price
I purchased this phone on rollback to replace a previous Straight Talk phone. It's very snappy and switches between apps quickly. Everything is easy to understand and use. The camera is noisy in low light and warm light, especially the front camera, but it works great in brighter light and captures a lot of detail. There's plenty of internal storage for apps and other downloads. This phone isn't good for high demand games because the frame rate can't keep up with sophisticated graphics, but I've had no problems at all with any Play Store games. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connect quickly and stay connected. This phone doesn't support wireless charging. It uses a USB-C charger instead of micro USB. I definitely recommend getting a case and screen protector for this phone. Overall, it's great for everything most people will use their phones for, and the Straight Talk version cuts the price enough to make it affordable for everyone. This would make a good first smartphone, but it doesn't disappoint for returning Straight Talk customers.

Avoid purchasing
about a month after purchasing it, horizontal and vertical lines came on the screen for no reason. Research says this is a known problem but Samsung won't replace.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser10/31/2021PleasedThis phone is just fine for what I need. I use an iPad at home and hate talking on the phone. There's not that much difference. The service is good. I am very pleased. I don't need an expensive phone when this one does everything I need and want, plus some.Shari

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/27/2020Great first phone for kidsThis is my son's first phone. He is tech savvy with a game system and tablet, and this was very easy for him to figure out and navigate. I bought a sturdy case for it, and it's been dropped already about 15 times and is just fine. Pictured is the phone in that case. It holds a long charge and has a kid mode which limits the internet which is lovely. It does have a delay when making calls, but he is a kid and this being his first phone he has no complaints. I scored it on sale and I love it! I heard the comments of issues buying this phone online, and I did get mine in person. There was a display which made it nice to compare to other phones before buying. The charger it comes with is very short so I ended up buying a new, longer one. My son is 6 and if y'all are trying to keep your little ones connected to family during this pandemic, I would recommend this phone.Amanda

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/28/2020Google lockedI got the phone, put a liquid screen protectant on it that had a 24 hour drying time recommendation then let it charge overnight. The next day I finally turned on the phone and noticed it was asking for a lock pattern instead of starting the phone setup so i called the toll free number to activate it and spoke with a live operator. I explained my problem and he walked me through a hard reset process on the phone, which did put it into the initial setup mode. I thought the phone was ready for setup and activation... No, apparently not, once I got my wi-fi on it the phone asked for the Google account and password previously linked to the phone. The hard reset caused it to active a security feature through Google which is great if the phone had been stolen, but it isn't. I don't know what to do now, i wish i hadn't put stuff on it to protect the screen, I'd have returned it by now if i hadn't done that. I would have thought someone would have turned on the phone to check the quality of it after the refurbishment of the phone, but it certainly doesn't appear to have been done.AlexRay74

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/03/2020A10e great except for built-in batteryIn my opinion, this is the best priced Straight Talk phone current Market($60) for $55 plan with hotspot. This phone does hotspot and does it well. Straight talk right now is offering 20 gigs total hotspot and then after 20 gigs used goes down to 2G service hotspot I believe. Picture in picture video on many websites. A breeze to set up this device out of the box and import all my old stuff from the Samsung J-3 Luna. It has microSD so you can load up and not overload the built-in memory, but the biggest Downer with this phone is the built-in battery. This phone doesn't last nearly as long out of the box as the j3 did on, typical usage. The battery is one of the weakest points in this phone and the fact that Samsung is making these galaxies with non-removable battery is hogwash. If you work in the field like I do it's always nice to have another battery in your pocket and now I cannot do that with this device. Other than that don't have anything bad to say about it right now. Been using for almost a month. Bought case kit on eBay that came with two tempered glass films and grab stand for 9 bucks from US seller. The stand is great when holding the phone and one's hand with finger through less likely to drop as well as kickstand for landscape viewing.Sailman75

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/27/2020very nice phone. :)This is a really, really nice phone for an amazing price. I think it's a steal. It's pretty nice quality too. The camera quality is pretty decent, but it's not the best. Network speed is pretty great. I haven't tested the hot spot, but I'm sure it works just like any other. You can customize this phone in many ways, such as widgets and the style of the clock on the lock screen. It has 32GB with expandable storage, a 5.8" display, 5MP front camera, 8MP rear camera, and a pretty nice battery that lasts for up to about 24 hours, depending on how you use it.apriicityx

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/03/2020great 32gb upgradeGreat $99 upgrade. I was worried by reviews on difficulty to navigate. I don't have any issues moving from a 16gb android. Is faster seems, but all new phones are. Quickly uploaded all my apps before switching sim card, through Google on wi-fi in 30 min while charging. it has pop ups if notices errors like trying to take a scream shot. popped up and said if you are trying to take screen shot hold down power and down volume. sweet... smaller then old phone but maximizes surface space for screen. I'm happy. usually go 2 years between new phone. so far taking great pictures....SLVaughn20

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/13/2019Awesome phone!I've had this phone for about 2 weeks and I am very pleased with it. 32 gb built in makes this phone super fast, the software (9.0) took a minute to get used to, but I love it. I would buy this one again and again.thatGuyinFlorida
