Excellent all around.
It was easy to compare different computer models. I love the one I chose, it is at least as good as I was expecting, if not better. It's a really good fit for me for my computer needs. Shipping actually was faster than the original estimate. Packaged very well, the computer was padded sufficiently to avoid any damage in shipping. Over all experience was excellent.

EVERYTHING IS FUZZY GREY ON THIS COMPUTER!
This is absolutely the worst computer I have ever tried to use. If you like crisp clear images, do not buy this thing. It is like the screen has a dark grey film over it. Everything is covered with grey. File names are hard to read and images are all blurry. Applications also jump to minimize without any action on the user part. You are using something and all of a sudden it is gone. Actually, the file still exists but it is no longer displayed on the screen. This has happened to me several times in a single minute. It is very distracting when you have to keep re-opening your file. When I am trying to concentrate on something and then the file disappears, by the time I get the file back open I forget what I was doing.

    Great laptop
    Excellent laptop. It is still one of the newer laptops that come equipped with a RJ45 Ethernet port. Intel core i5, 17” monitor. Fast, crystal clear images very user friendly. I had an HP years ago. Loved it but then they seemed to have many problems. This one was highly recommended by a great computer whiz. Glad I purchased it. Definitely not disappointed!

    Very fast, but...nice big screen, kind of heavy
    received mine Mar 6, and love it. 802.11AC wifi is pretty fast, but haven't tested the range on it yet. I always use it at my desk with a hard wired ethernet connection which is blazing fast, and don't take it along with me ever so I haven't really tested the battery life either . doesn't fit in my backpack very well because it's so big (and heavy...too heavy for a student already loaded down with books)...having a hard time finding the right bag to fit a 17" laptop. boots up extremely fast!....I can be checking email with firefox from a complete shutdown in about 60 seconds!! huge 500GB hard drive allowed me to install Linux Lubuntu, which is much faster than windows 11. I alloted 150GB to the Lubuntu partition, which I think was too much since the windows 11 operating system requires quite a bit of space with it's bulky self and updates. but the computer itself works great! I like windows 11 (which is reminiscent of windows 7) better than windows 10, and most of the kinks in windows 11 have been worked out by now. Here's a pesky issue: I did have a problem configuring the day of the week and time in the bottom right hand corner and had to search the net extensively for a solution. the computer would lose track of time and I would have to reset the time every time i used the computer. that's most likely a problem with windows 11 itself....Yay for Linux!!! backlit keyboard should be turned off during the day when the lights are on or else it's actually harder to see the keys. Num Lock does not come on automatically upon startup. exterior case Kind of feels fragile. I lifted it by the end with one hand and heard a cracking noise so use two hands, but haven't had any problems yet. Hasn't been dropped yet, so no info there. runs very quietly, but gets hot, especially when watching youtube videos or I attach it to my TV via HDMI port for videos. speakers are adequate, screen is adequate. but might add more RAM memory soon, just to make it a little snappier. Memory card slot is good for storage expansion by leaving the card plugged in at all times. has two USB 3.0 on the left side for plugging in external hard drives and whatnot, but the USB 2.0 plug on the right side gets in the way of the mouse if your device sticks out too far. overall I think it's a very fast computer and am very happy after 3 months. paid $500 and think it's a good price for the hardware specs that I got

    Love the display size, I really dont use this laptop to its ability. I surf the net occasionally, and store some files on it. So far its been a winner.

    Keyboard issue, silver on silver, very difficult
    I do not like the silver-on-silver keyboard. Although I can type with both hands without looking at the keys, it's a pain. unless I was typing long letters. Nowadays, it's different since typing class

    Large screen, odd KB backlighting, fragile-feel.
    Bought it for our little girl for her elementary school work. Screen is large and bright, and she absolutely loves it. The back-lit keyboard is nice, but our Princess can not see the keys when back light is on (neither can her parents) so she does not like to use it. I wonder if HP actually performed any testing with this back light feature before implementing it, as it seems to make the keys very hard to see and unlike the numerous back-lit laptops I've owned. Laptop is very quiet, and key presses are very soft and responsive. Out of the box, it took about 1 1/2 hours for me to update (and remove unwanted software). Construction is rather meh, though. The outside unit feels like light plastic, and the bottom has a somewhat light texture and rattling feel to it. The construction material seems to lack much density, which I understand is important for weight consideration, but I think it is too light and fragile, and will most likely crack and break with the normal bumps of daily use. The construction promotes a very "toyish" feel. Was gonna return, but the Princess already has her favorite stickers all over it, so... Anyways, it seems to operate very soundly, but I took 3 stars off - 2 for the poorly-designed back-lit keyboard, and another star for the somewhat meh overall construction.

    Five Stars for HP and Walmart
    Bought this 17" laptop to replace a smaller one that was dying. I am happy to have the larger screen. So far it has more than everything I think I need and is working as it should. I liked that is one has the Intel Core i5 processor and has 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD. Best of all was the sale price. Two day free shipping was a nice bonus.

    GREAT COMPUTER FOR THE PRICE
    HAVE HAD MY DELL 15 FOR 5 YEARS NEEDED NEW COMPUTER. LOOKING ON WALMART ONLINE FOR CHRISTMAS SAW THIS COMPUTER ON SALE AND DECIDED TO BUY IT. IT TOOK ALMOST 2 WEEKS FOR IT TO SHOW UP BUT IT FINALLY GOT DELIVERED. STARTED PLAYING WITH IT WAS AMAZED WITH ALL IT FEATURES: 17" SCREEN, WINDOWS 11, BACKLIGHT KEYBOARD, 8 GB RAM, 512GB STORAGE. ONLY THING IT DID NOT HAVE WAS A DVD PLAYER BUT JUST BOUGHT HP DVD EXTERNAL DRIVE THAT PLUGS INTO THE COMPUTER. OVERALL IT IS EXCELLENT AND RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY.

    Very pleased with my purchase.
    I like that the keyboard is back lit. the screen is plenty big. I was able to get it up and running quickly and I am in no way a computer expert. This was on sale at Walmart and the best price I found. I had been eyeing this computer, so I was so happy to see it go on sale. This is my first laptop, and I am very pleased with it. Had a little trouble connecting it to my wireless printer, but that was my fault. didn't understand some of the directions in the printer instruction manual. Have to look up a lot of terms when reading geek. I wanted a HP product as I have been so happy with my HP printer, scanner.
