Nice soldering iron
This is a great soldering iron for smaller projects like crafting or electric items. I will probably use this on my slot car race track. I like that it has a stand. My other soldering irons did not have a stand, which made it awkward to have a safe place to lay the iron down when not using it.

Works as advertised.
Pros 1) An extra replacement tip is always helpful. 2) The Rosin Core Solder works well and the self-feeding tube makes soldering easier and convenient. Cons 1) There is only one style of tip included. I'm not sure if different tip styles are sold separately, but if so, I would purchase them. 2) There is no light indicating the solder is on and hot. This could pose a safety issue for users. 3) There is a stand included in this kit; however, it is very light and it dragged the cord. To prevent this, it would be nice if it had a gripped bottom, or slightly weighted bottom. 4) There are two screws to release and tighten the tip. I found them to be bulky. If I had been working in a tight spot, they would have been in the way. Overall, this soldering iron is good for a small project (as advertised).

    Great for light soldering jobs
Handy little soldering iron. I use it for soldering wires when installing aftermarket radio in my friends truck. I like that it heats quickly and is small enough to fit in tight places. Comes with a spare tip which is good because these "always on" when plugged in soldering irons can burn up tips rather quickly.

Heats up very quick and is very light weight
The Hyper Tough Soldering Iron ended being a very light weight and handy around the shop tool. I plugged the iron in and it took approximately 2.5 minutes to heat up hot enough to melt solder. I do alot of automotive work and using butt joint that are soldered then use heat shrink on them to seal them up. Anyway, the butt joints heated up quickly. I especially like the solder that came with the iron because it is thin and works well with small wires. the soldering iron has a small holder that the iron can be put onto and lets you use two hands. All in all I am very satisfied with the results of using this tool.

    Good for occasional jobs.
This is a good soldering iron to use around the house and for doing light automotive and other electrical solders. It does not have any adjustable heat settings or anything so it's pretty basic you just plug it up and it heats up. It does come with a small stand to keep it from burning your work area and it has a roll of soldering flux included. I would recommend this for the occasional use but not for everyday use.

    Basic soldering iron kit
This is a basic, no frills, soldering iron. Nothing fancy. It's not rechargeable. It's not cordless. There are no temperature controls. Actually, there is no on/off switch either. Just plug it in, heat it up, and solder your wires. This lack of features does not imply the soldering iron is no good. For me, it's perfect. I use a soldering iron to solder wires. Nothing more, nothing less. I prefer that the tools I use are simple and only made to do a single task. When you start adding extraneous features you usually lessen the overall productivity (and reliability) of most devices. After plugging in the iron, it heats up relatively fast and the temperature at the tip is hot enough to solder most stranded wire under 12 gauge. The supplied solder is adequate for most electronic soldering and flows well. The soldering iron also comes with a very light plastic prop to rest the iron on when it is not in your hand, and an extra soldering tip. If you just need a cheap iron to solder wires then this should fit the bill. If you're looking for something to do complex 'component level' soldering on a board then try to find something a little more high end.

    Perfect for my needs.
Perfect light duty soldering kit for the DIYer like me. I am not doing any integrated circuitry but I do a lot of high and low voltage electrical work on my homestead and this fits my needs perfectly. It doesn't take up a lot of space in my tool box either. It is low on features as it has just one heat setting and is not adjustable. The tip is replaceable and it comes with a spare. It would have been nice to see it come with a sponge and sponge holder for tip cleaning but I understand it would increase costs for this little kit.

    Good for small projects
I bought a small speaker kit online to test out this soldering iron. It worked well for this small kit, but by the end the tip wouldn't hold solder anymore. It could be because I haven't soldered anything in over a decade, but it seemed like I remembered everything I was taught. Luckily there are two tips, so I think it will last long enough for several small repairs. The stand, however, is practically useless. It is too lightweight to safely hold the soldering iron without tipping over every time you pick up or put down the iron. 4 stars because it was inexpensive, so it performed well enough for the price.

    Great for Speaker wire
All the soldering iron I need! I have a midsized golf cart with a dump bed on it. We use it around the house for leaves and to run a sprayer. Other use is just riding the kids around. I decided it needed a radio and speakers. The way the speaker wires connect to the speaker is by a built in clip that the wire slides into. If I had a dollar for every time the wire broke..... This is where the soldering iron comes in. I ended up having a somewhat good idea of putting solder on the stripped wire to make it rigid to keep it from breaking. The Hyper Tough Soldering iron works perfect. The extra tip, stand, and provided soldering wire was all I needed to complete the task.

    Nice iron
The Hyper Tough 30-Watt Soldering Iron with Stand and Electrical Solder is a nice little soldering iron. It's a nice iron for small jobs. I use this size iron for small jobs. This iron heats up quick and has a small stand to rest it on while it's heating up or once it gets hot. It also comes with some electrical solder and an extra tip. It's a 120 volts and is a good iron to have in the toolbox.
