My First Smoker
Very happy with this purchase. Seems well constructed and very few things to put together to set it up. I am a beginner at smoking meats and have only used it once to make smoked pulled pork and we really enjoyed it. Will have to see if it stands the test of time. Buying the extension legs with wheels so I can move it around easier and a cover so that I can keep it outside.

Assembly/Ease of support(NOT)
Out of box, 2 pair of different legs. Manual shows they should be the same. Made call for support, must handle online, cannot speak to person. Issues in pull down have nothing to do with assembly or parts. Braces will not fit all four of these legs. If we are doing something wrong, it would be helpful to actually have a person to provide support! As is, can't use

My first smoke was a Boston Butt, and it was WONDERFUL. During the second smoke, the unit turned off by itself, and it did that for the 3rd and 4th smokes, too. Now I can't use it without sitting next to it all day and making sure it doesn't turn off. Masterbuilt says they're sending a replacement digital control unit. I hope that one lasts longer than the original. Because I like this product, -- when it works. Subsequent to receiving this as a gift, I have read many reviews about these faulty digital controllers. Wish the smoker had had one of the old analog controllers!!DC in Virginia

I examined it and it doesn't appear to have damaged the integrity. Im looking forward to tasting my chicken in and hour. The digital display is very hard to read in the sun. I think its a very good cooker for the money. I added longer legs with wheels.George

Ive been smoking for 20 years, this isnt the best or worst ive used. It will make due now that i know i need to have it on 275 degrees the whole time. Also slows down smoking when youve put a couple trays worth of wood in so plan to dump the ash at least once on an 8 hour smoke but thats explainable.Chris F

I recently purchased a new 30in digital electric smoker because I have a previous model that basically was used over the past 5 years and it was time to get a new one. My old smoker is a Masterbuilt that was a predecessor to the new I purchased. Things were fine while assembling till I got to the wood chip loader and tray. The loader is nothing but a thin piece of flimsy sheet metal compared to a pop can and the wood chip tray is so tiny I thought it was an ash tray. On the previous model the chip loader was made from a better grade of steel and more durable. The wood chip tray is about twice the size and is also made of a better grade of metal. This was so disappointing to see such a drop in quality on a product that I was fond of. In summary I am returning this product and moving on from Masterbuilt.kmack
