Great predictable results!
Technically, this is my fourth smoker. I still use the Weber "Smokey Mountain" water smoker on occasion, and have two of the typical side mounted fire-box smokers. They tend to get the most usage. Wellsir, now the Pit Boss is the new norm! Well made, easy to use and easy to clean up. It now has a (permanent) home on my deck (drippings are easy to control). Granted, the "smoke" flavor isn't as strong as a true wood smoker, but still there.

Warning! Rust is not covered under the warranty.
Bought a Pit Boss Memphis 4 in 1 grill primarily because I had a 5-year warranty. I live down on the Texas coast and rust is a huge problem. You can spend a ton on a grill and it will only last a year or so. I was really excited about Having a 5-year warranty on a grill and was willing to pay the extra money to get it. Well, here we are in year two and the piece that holds the racks in place has completely rusted and so now the grill is unusable. I get on the Pit Boss Website to read about the warranty and how to make a claim and I discovered that rust is not covered under their warranty. This is the primary reason grills stop working is rust. Bad form, Pit Boss. Bad form.

Not to mention smoked baked potatoes. I cant imagine life now without this, great investment. it is pricey, but you pay for what you get, the hell with weber!!!!!!!!!!!Unknown

I have learned so much about cooking and have lost 45 pounds in the process. Cooking food to temperature is one of the biggest and best things this grill has taught me. Cooking healthier does not mean giving up great flavor thanks to my Pit boss. My grill started having issues turning on especially on damp days and for the last couple of days it did not turn on. I called Customer service on a Monday afternoon and they felt my controller was faulty and they were shipping me a new on free of charge(great 5 year warranty), I had it by Friday. I just installed it and my grill is back up and running. We plan to cook ribeye's for fathers day tomorrow. THANK YOU PIT BOSS for a great product and great customer service. I will never own another grill besides Pit Boss pellet grills and I highly recommend them. On a side note I have recommended Pit Boss Grills to my friends and family and I have 7 others to follow me in buying Pit Boss Pellet grills(all Pro Series) and they are all bragging on how much they love their grills. This is the first pellet grill I've owned and I'm glad my wife purchased it for me. It's so easy to clean up afterwards it's unbelievable. I place the grates in hot water with Dawn and let them soak while I vaccuum out the pit and pot. The only set back I have is I wish it had 4 wheels to move around, I am a disabled veteran and have to wait for a neighbor or family to come over and move it for me. So I don't get to used it as much as I would like toGuy47

After one week, I have smoked three times and grilled once. After putting it together and setting it where my old gas grill used to be, I realized I could of had enough room for the Sportsman 1100. Oh well, that will be my next one and I will donate this one to one of the kids.Miketh2000

My only gripe is that if you intend on doing a 10-14 hour smoke, make sure you clean out the burn pan before you begin. I've had it go out on me twice when I didn't clean it out. Otherwise, I've done about a dozen sessions in the 4-8 hour range with perfect results. 10 hour baby-backs last weekend were spectacular!Gmack

The new pid control is terrible and when I called pit boss they had no answers. Sad because you guys are normally awesome. The 850 pro takes almost an hour to reach 400 degrees and then when smoking chicken thighs at 225 no smoke flavor at all. Taste like over baked. The PID control is to efficient and doesn't produce smoke. Pit boss customer service told me this was normal and to take it back to lowes if I wasn't happy. So I did. I picked up this pit boss 820 sportsman after being a 700 fb user for years. I almost walked away. But this having the older controller. I decided to stay with pit boss against my better judgement. But this grills acts and functions like my old 700 fb and the food is tasting great again. Glad it was a better experience. To bad I wasted 5 hours and 1/2 tank of fuel hauling grills. Not to mention loading and unloading these heavy things lol.AZ Hunter
