Update
I have written a review of this monitor before. Now quite a while later I've purchased another one to see if there's been any improvements since last time I owned a HG90. I had issues with the backlighting in gaming mode + issues with the backlighting zones beforehand. The difference between the previous monitor I had and the new one i recieved today is night and day, so much so that I doubt it's just firmware upgrades that are the difference. I recommend disabling the backlight zones in SDR as they still cause some funnies in certain games. Other than that the monitor performs excellent. The insane blur that I experienced on the other monitor is nonexistent here, using the gaming mode is almost not really necessary. In gaming mode this monitor is also more than bright enough, almost a bit 2 brigth for how I generally keep my lights in my room. Haven't gotten to test the HDR much, but I assume it's pretty much the same as it has been. Pretty basic, not really well supported and windows HDR stuff = pretty basic and buggy. There are plenty reviews on youtube that test the HDR properly. I honestly don't find it necessary. Picture quality is excellent, colors are vibrant and very nicely balanced, very little blur, overall very good quality overall. I'm not bothered by the 1080p resolution as I prefer framerate over pixel density. All in all I'm very happy with this monitor, again, so much so that I suspect the panel had more issues than just a few dead pixels on the previous one I owned. I've tested LG's 35" ultrawide, Predator Z35/X34/X34P and AOC Agon 35". There's no comparison between the HG90 and the forementioned. If you really want a higher resolution I would go for the X34/X34P(they both have their pros and cons, most people seem to prefer the older X34 model). All in all an excellent product and I kind of regret not testing another one of these when I returned the first one. I would still like to see more backlight zones and proper HDR10 support but I'm sure that's coming down the line, and with the pricing of the current HDR10 monitors I don't mind the HG90 at it's current price at all.

More problems than solutions
this is a fine monitor when it works. the graphics and features are nice. when trying to use pbp or boot from sleep, i end up spending 5-30 mins daily just to get it working without extreme distortion. worked with support to fix these with no resolution. eventually the warranty ran out and they were done making sad excuses and instead suggested a fix more expensive than the monitor itself.

    MONITOR YOUR MONITOR
From business to leisure. Screen size is great for my business when I have to open different tabs independently side by side. Colors and clarity is undeniably on point. Gaming on the monitor will immerse you in a different level and mode whereby the curvature brings everything I to focus. Connectivity. Great if you have the Samsung phones where Dex comes to play. Your phones is now is wide mode.

    Adaptive, stylish, long lastin
I've had been using this monitor series since 2017, and it has exceeded my expectations. With continously running this monitor at 144 at an average of 10 hours of use a day, it has yet to let me down. I use the multi-input running 2 separate displays for my live streams, and no issues from there. I have done away with the stand and went with a adjustable Vesa arm andakingnthat switch was super simple and there's nothing like swieling a 49" screen around. I highly recommend samsungs ultra wides for sure!

    Great display
This monitor is awesome. The picture is incredible and it affords me more space than my old dual monitor set up. I was concerned about cost at first but really it is less expensive than buying two high-end monitors and the needed equipment to position them. The only reason this is not a five star review is I have had trouble with the display inputs. I was able to rectify it by switching over to HDMI. I believe the problem was caused by too much tension on the DVI cable when I ran it through the space for it on the back cover of the monitor. That being said I still have no regrets about my purchase I just no longer use the cable cover on the rear of the Monitor. If the hole was at the bottom instead of the top I would probably rectify the entire situation.

i have reached out to the consumer reporting agency because this has happened twice now with 2 separate monitors . while pbp mode is on ( picture beside picture) the monitor gets crazy hot at the edge of the screen left and right. the first monitor i got in dec 2020 was smoking and you could smell melting plastic . so i returned it. got new the replacement 7/2021 started to get real hot again just after 2 hours of use but this time it set off my smoke detector and the smell of plastic

    Mixed Thoughts
like the monitor, in fact i bought two and mounted them in a stackable configuration. however, the screen resolution is an issue with my microsoft surface pro 5th gen, but not issue with a 2015 macbook pro. i had to purchase the latest docking station, for my surface, in order to even get the display to work. i'm not sure how to get the audio to work on the monitors also. overall, i'm happy with these monitors. i ended up returning the first one i purchased, because one of the video ports was not working. this is my first experience owning monitors this size, so i'll be sure to so more research next time.

    Several concerns
The monitor has issues with powering on and off. Apparently this is a known issue reported by many users yet firmware upgrades did not help. Essentially I have to manually plug/unplug the monitor when using my computer to get it to work. I'm trying to have this repaired, but it's a struggle just to get someone to help. I was also disappointed in the text quality with Windows applications. I've tried every remedy suggestion to scaling issues with no luck.

    Awesome monitor!
This is a great monitor, as long as you understand the resolution. I prefer a lower resolution myself and it replaces two 27" 1080P screens, so it's a great deal imo. if you need a higher resolution/DPI value, you won't get it at this size/price point today. It was super easy to set up and ran at full resolution at 144Hz/10-bit from the start (Win10, RX 560). However, I didn't mess with HDMI and connected it via DP from day one. A simple key combo lets me connect (RDP) to a second PC on another Windows desktop and flip back and forth easily, effectively providing dual monitors on both of them...a real productivity booster! Gaming is also great! Even a few of my older games can use the full 3840x1080 (e.g., BioShock, WarFrame) and colors really pop! Here again, ymmv based on your graphics card, but I'm pleased with the combo of my older RX 560 and this monitor for now, since there are no card upgrades to be had. One last note: be sure to select the driver in Device Manager if it didn't default to it, and set the color (ICC) profile to the one that came with the driver, to ensure the very best experience.
